Anna

Let me re-write the end of the second last paragraph for you. My alterations are in CAPS to make them stand out. Not necessarily to be taken as a sign that I am shouting at you...

"Why her and not me? Really it's only natural that he should think this. After all, TO HIM, I was only an annoying teanager that could draw. TO HIM, HIS WIFE WAS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE WORLD...."

Of course, he will still think it would have been more worthwhile saving her over you even if you asked him now. It is only natural he would think this. IN REALITY we all see the people we care about as more important than all the others. This is regardless of how much we sign up to the idea of all people IN PRINCIPLE being of equal value.

If you asked your former teacher now, I am quite sure he will think it is nice that you are alive, because I am sure he is not a horrible person.
