The queues are getting mighty long there at the Post Office.  I usually plug into my ipod and work my way through at least 10 songs before I am kindly asked by an automated female voice to please go to space no. 7.  For smaller packages, I use the www.royalmail.co.uk online postage service.  I know I explained this easy process in the earlier blog, but I must stress, it is super easy and will save loads of your time which is very very important indeed.

Easy steps, 1-2-3

1. Go to www.royalmail.co.uk

2. Click the little  Print Postage button

3. Click the Print Other Postage Products button

4.  Weigh your package on the kitchen scales and enter this info in the weight field

5.  The rest will only take a matter of a minute.  You will need a printer to print off your postage.  Easy peasy and worth a go.

Okay,so there I was quite innocently having a little look around the revamped www.notonthehighstreet.com website when lo and behold I stumbled upon some severe competition.  I will not name names here (because I'm not feeling very mean today) but I think my competition is nicking my ideas!  Blast!  Drat!  They too are designers selling on the above named website, plus they have their own online presence.  It was the towel bags....and the descriptions.  The wording of the descriptions was so very close to my own descriptive words for my towel bags.  Plus, I do know that I was the first to come out with this product.  Hm....have they had their eye on me?!

The funny thing is, two years ago I was asked by my business advisor (and very dear friend...you are tops Mr. Roughsedge!) to find a business that I wanted to be like 5 years from now.  (Or then...you know what I mean).  And as in 'like' he meant 'as successful as you perceive them to be at this point in time.'  So, I had mentioned this Maker of Pink Bags company (not real name, just trying to hide their identity).  I had seen them in a couple of magazines and they seemed to offer very nice, well made products.

Oh, but now...NOW!  I am throwing down the gauntlet, baby (whatever a gauntlet is...) and this, my friends, is war.  I have found a new challenge that my competitive little nature will happily play along with.  In a couple of years time I want the Maker of Pink Bags company to look at Gee How Quaint and think 'Jeepers...are they are so popular and loved by all.  If only we could be that fantastic...but how???'
