For the past couple of weeks I have been taking the Gee How Quaint show on the road. Boutiques are obviously the way forward and now I must be brave and show my wares to the discerning boutique owning public.
Obviously, I think my GHQ bags are the cat's meow. Whilst speaking to my friends, I can easily talk about the merits of owning a knicker bag and how I really delight in the way that my shoes are clean and lovely after packing them away in a shoe back with divider. But approaching the boutique owner, well, now, that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish, or bags and shoes and pins and other gorgeous- gorgeous things that I would like to own some day.
It's the rejection that's hard to take. I've never dealt with it well.
"What, you..you don't like my bags? Is it the way they look? Is it that they have a personality defect? Is it that she isn't pretty enough? Smart enough? Her eyes aren't blue enough? Perhaps she isn't well spoken enough and snorted when she laughed? " And there, I've gone and done it. I've taken the rejection personally.
The thing that must be understood is that perhaps the bags just do not fit the boutique's image. Fair enough. Move on and find their proper place. Also, it isn't just about the boutique liking Gee How Quaint....I'm not going to leave my little dears behind if I don't think the boutique fits the image of GHQ.
