The Gocco demo at The Art Works Galleries last night went really well. I am beyond pleased. I am slightly annoyed at myself for not having taken a photo of the set up, so I guess a very brief description will have to suffice. I was placed in one of the main gallery spaces (hurrah!) just across from the DJ (hurrah!) in view of the drinks bar (hurrah!).
Once the First Thursday event got started I was on constant babble mode until clean up at around 9:30. My eye is twitchy and my throat is soar but all of that is so insignificant because the event went really well. Apparently this exhibition was one of the best events and there was even a queue of people outside waiting to get in. I don't know how much of that is true as I was a bit busy at my own table. There were some gorgeous photographs on display and I am sure that is what drew in all of that attention.
I did meet some very enthusiastic young artists and it was great to be in contact with all that energy. It has been years since I was a student and although people (unfortunately) grumble about our student population, I think they are wonderful and so lucky to have their whole life ahead of them, buzzing with possibility. Perhaps all those people who grumble are a little bit jealous because they are no longer at that stage themselves.
Anyway...there was a lot of interest for the Gocco workshops so now I must contact my contacts and make sure it happens.
great! so glad it went well. i want to come. did u raffle off a gocco? i've been eyeing those little beauties on ebay for years. good work, professor. you should have someone video your demos.

The solution is made with a small squirt of baby shampoo in about a cup of warm water.
